ERTW is proud of the significant amount of time its lawyers have contributed to a variety of pro bono matters. The firm gives these matters the same commitment as billed matters, providing the utmost attention and dedication to the client’s needs and interests.
Since its formation, ERTW has:
- Successfully defended before the California Supreme Court a law prohibiting trade in kangaroo products. Viva! International Voice for Animals v. Adidas Promotional Retail Operations, Inc., 41 Cal. 4th 929 (2007).
- Contributed hundreds of hours of attorney time to the HIV-Aids Legal Services Alliance (HALSA), which provides free comprehensive civil legal services to persons living with HIV/AIDS in the Los Angeles area.
- Successfully defended a city ordinance banning the practice of declawing animals for non-therapeutic reasons. California Veterinary Medical Assoc. v. City of West Hollywood, 152 Cal. App. 4th 536 (2007).
